invigoratedlife Tip #5 - avoid MSG

MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) has some of the same toxicity mechanisms as the toxic sweetener aspartame. It is a neurotoxin that enters the brain via the hypothalamus, and destroys neuron cells. This part of the brain can affect mood, hormone levels and behaviors. Children are the most susceptible to MSG as their brains develop.

In order to cut out MSG, you need to remove foods with the following ingredients:

  • monosodium glutamate
  • hydrolyzed proteins
  • autolyzed yeast
  • yeast extract
  • sodium or calcium caseinate
  • natural flavorings
  • textured protein
  • hydrolyzed oat flour
